3 Principles of Hospitality

So here's 3 things I've learnt along the way which I come back to time and time again. They keep me sane and keep me practising hospitality when I just want to give up...
1. It's about showing people the gospel.
This is the sole reason we are doing this - often the  person that benefits from the gospel is you, not just the people who are round.
See here for more on this: - Why Bother?

2. If someone asks if there's anything they can do to help (or bring), the answer is ALWAYS "Yes".
Hospitality is something we take part in, not have done to us.

3. Don't change your plans
Incorporate other people into what you're already doing. If you're mum/dad/brother/sister/grandma was coming round, they'd most likely join in with whatever you were doing. So ask yourself, "What would I be doing if (mum/dad etc) were the visitor?". This way you'll remember its about bringing people into your family, not being the entertainment in someones day.
